I wanted to capture that beautiful moment when the summer light sweeps across the rolling fields, picking out the different shades of green and making the wildflowers in the foreground glow. I love the contrast between the soft, hazy distance and the abundance of colour and texture close up. The painting is finished in a simple oak-coloured frame, which complements the natural, earthy tones of the landscape.
