After a grim grey winter and the lingering anticylconic gloom, I was visiting Mottisfont House in Hampshire and the sun finally broke through - the first bright light of the year and it was March! The ornamental garden was still sparse but Hellebores are a bright herald of better to come. The low sun backlit the petals and made them sing with an inner glow!
